A New Year Devotional for Families – 2026

As we shift into 2026, let’s all take a break together—parents, children, and all family members—to welcome the year with our hearts and minds turned toward God.

Jesus reminds us in John 10, “I am the good shepherd… My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” Just as a shepherd lovingly guides his flock, our Father seeks to guide our families each day. He wants us to listen to His voice—when we have questions, when we communicate with one another, and even when we have difficult decisions to make.

This year, let’s put God first. In Matthew 6:33, the scripture promises, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” When we place God at the center of our daily lives—whether it be at work, or school, or in our relaxation or play time—God will always provide what we need.

In this season of real division in our nation and the world, God wants us to work toward unity. Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:2, “Be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Family bonds are strengthened when we’re guided by God’s love and love toward one another.

As parents, we must teach our children to encourage one another, forgive quickly, and walk together in God’s love—but we must not only teach, we must also become the example.

So, parents, as we continue to raise and guide our children into this new year, let’s deepen our relationships with God, remembering that faith is the foundation that strengthens family bonds.

Event Recap

Parent Meeting

We ended the year 2025 with a Virtual Parent Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. We received over 150 parent surveys! We are thankful for your participation and look forward to implementing your suggestions in 2026. Stay tuned for the next parent meeting!

Teen Formal

The host church for the Teen Formal this year was Mt. Pleasant Church, held on Saturday, December 21, 2025, at the Global Village Center. The teens enjoyed a red carpet runway, peer performances, awards, food, dancing, and fellowship! We are looking forward to next year’s Teen Formal.

Children’s New Year’s Eve Celebration

The Children’s Church New Year’s Eve Celebration was held at the Cooper Road Campus. The children enjoyed pajamas, pizza, and praise! Join us next year for the New Year’s Eve Celebration.

Children and Teen Ministry Assistants Needed

Do you love games, crafts, or have the gift of administration? The IGNiTE Team would love for you to join your gifts with the IGNiTE Children’s and Teen Ministry. We are looking for individuals to serve one Sunday a month.
