RUN AND TELL THAT: A MOTHER’S WITNESS TO JESUS
As we celebrate mothers this month, this is a great time to once again remember, when you’ve had a real encounter with Jesus, you don’t stay silent—you have to run and tell that. Pastor J really laid out this message for us. We may not know every single scripture by heart, or have heard every sermon that’s ever been preached, but we have been witnesses to God’s blessings all around us—A mother knows this feeling well. From the moment her child is born and placed in her arms, love compels her to speak life, to teach her child, to protect her child, and to guide that child toward the One who transforms everything.
A mother’s love is very similar to the story of the woman at the well, who “left her water jar and ran back to town” after meeting Jesus (John 4:28–29). She had a sense of urgency to run and tell that. When a mom sees God working in her child’s life — especially through all the “firsts” of childhood, and the challenges of the teenage years — she simply cannot stay silent. She prays, she encourages, she keeps showing up for her child—a true gift from God.
Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, “Train up a child in the way they should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” That training is not for the faint of heart…it’s not work that can be done quietly. A mother’s work is daily conversations, a commitment to be present during the highs and lows, talking AND listening, and whispered prayers over a sleeping child who may not realize how fiercely they are loved and cared for.
And as teens wrestle with growing up, identity, peer pressure, and independence, a mother’s steady voice echoes God’s heart: “The Lord your God is with you… He will quiet you with His love” (Zephaniah 3:17).
This Mother’s Day, celebrate the mothers who refuse to stay silent — who run, speak, pray, and love because they’ve encountered Jesus, and they are purposeful in how they guide their children to encounter Him too.

New Members: Children and Teens Edition
Eastern Star Church IGNiTE ministry was blessed to serve the Children and Teens who participated in the New Member Orientation at our Main Campus, where 9 young participants of children and 5 teens gathered for a meaningful time of learning, connection, and spiritual growth.
We were blessed by the enthusiasm and engagement shown by each student, and we celebrate this important step in their spiritual journey. ESC remains committed to nurturing the next generation and helping our youth grow in faith, purpose, and discipleship.
Please join us in praying for these young members as they continue to develop their relationship with Christ and become active participants in the ministry of our church. They are not the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today.
