Remember, God is the Reason for Your Success
In Bible study a few weeks ago, Pastor Jay referenced the book of Haggai and rebuilding without God. The people focused on rebuilding their own lives and neglected God’s house. As this pattern developed, distance from Father God was normalized. As we consider this year of realignment, what areas of our family’s lives are so successful that we have distanced ourselves from God?
As parents, we celebrate every win our children experience—good grades, new friendships, academic achievements, creative expressions, and emotional growth. It seems we spend time praying for these “wins,” and when they happen, these moments feel like answered prayers. Yet it’s in these times when things are going “right” that our spiritual life begins to suffer. When life feels easy and smooth, God can become an afterthought.
The Bible reminds us that forgetting God in times of success is not new. Deuteronomy 6:11-12 says, “When you have eaten and are satisfied… be careful that you do not forget the Lord.” Success is a blessing, but it can also become a distraction if we as parents don’t help our children understand that every good thing in our lives can be traced back to Father God.
For parents, this is where spiritual realignment becomes a daily practice. We can teach without lecturing—presenting reminders that become part of everyday life. Celebrate the achievement—and then honor the One who gave the strength, instilled the creativity, and provided the opportunity.
Yes, parents most likely pray over their children, but we should also make certain to pray with our children. Before a big test, say a prayer of gratitude with your teenager, reminding them that wisdom is a gift from God. When your children make good friends, help them see that it is God placing the right people in their path.
James 1:17 reminds us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” Realignment happens when we help our children see that their success is not separate from God—it is rooted in and sustained by God.

What we learned last month!
In Children’s Church, the children learned about the vastness of God’s love and how He sent His Son to die, so that we may be forgiven!
Jesus’ sacrifice healed our relationship with God, and as a result, we are made new!
This month’s memory verse was 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Jesus makes us new!”

Teen Social: “Film and Concessions”
What a night to remember! Our IGNiTE teens showed up and showed OUT for our “Film & Concessions” social at the Fishers campus! 💥 A total of 43 teens filled the basement with energy, laughter, and community.
From dancing and fellowship to kicking back and enjoying Zootopia 2, the vibes were unmatched! 🍿🎥 And let’s talk about the concessions… nachos, walking tacos, candy, cotton candy, and a flavored popcorn bar that took things to the next level; from cookies & cream (the fan favorite 👀) to green apple and more!
Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when teens come together in a safe, fun, and faith-filled space. 💛
We’re already counting down to our next social in April, you won’t want to miss it!
New Members: Children and Teens Edition
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, we had 15 young people excited about becoming new members of Eastern Star Church!
We taught on church history, the purpose of the church, prayer, baptism, and communion, just to name a few topics. The youth were engaged and asked good questions!
A few of the teens were finishing some of their requirements to receive the scholarship, so it’s always exciting to see them taking care of their responsibilities!
We are blessed to see so many young people starting their journey! Let’s continue to pray for and encourage them to be all that God has called them to be!
