IGNITE Newsletter: November 2026
Choosing Gratitude Every Day
Every day, the world seems to move faster. It’s easy to forget that simply being alive is a divine gift. God breathed life into us, and we should be thankful for that. Gratitude isn’t just a feeling—it’s a spiritual posture that keeps our hearts aligned with Him.
Scripture reminds us, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever” (Psalm 136:1). Thanksgiving may come once a year, but a grateful spirit is meant to shape all 365 days of the year. Families gather in November to share what they’re thankful for, yet God invites us to practice that same intentional gratitude in the everyday, ordinary moments of life—teaching our children to see life itself as a blessing.
God created us with remarkable abilities: brains that reason, hearts that feel deeply, and minds capable of learning, creating, and expressing love. Even our ability to shift our thoughts from negative to positive reflects His wisdom in how He formed us.
Science continues to affirm what Scripture has long taught—that gratitude strengthens emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. As Colossians 3:15 encourages, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts… and be thankful.”
In this season of Thanksgiving and beyond, may we honor God by choosing gratitude daily—recognizing His goodness in our humanity and giving thanks for the wonder of being fearfully and wonderfully made. Selah.
What we learned last month
Children’s Church
Here is what we learned in Children’s Church this October:
God hears us in Joshua 10 when the “Sun Stands Still”.
God helps us be courageous in Judges 6-7 when “God Calls Gideon”.
God is in charge in 1 Samuel 8-10; 13; 15 during “The Rise and Fall of Saul”.
God helps us in 1 Samuel 26 when “David spares Saul’s Life”.
During Teen Church this October, the teens conducted their own “Teen Town Hall” at each campus, sharing their insights and feedback on the future of the teen ministry at Eastern Star Church.
