Thank you for your desire to serve our youth! It is our prayer is that you would come to know the joy of serving God by helping His little ones come to know Him. It is not by accident that you are here.

Volunteer FAQs

What are the needs?

Our needs vary from one youth activity to the next and from one quarter to the next. Some volunteer opportunities include small group teachers, teachers assistant, site leaders, and activity coordinators. If you are interested in serving in the youth ministry here are a few suggestions for discovering how you can fit with our current youth programs:

  • Pray about how you envision yourself working with youth.
  • Take the “Fit for Ministry” class offered through Christian Education by contacting Michelle Kirk at the church office. Through this class you will be given tools to better understand what your spiritual gifts are.
  • Visit one or multiple youth activities to observe and talk with current youth workers.
  • Help with an event like the Hallelujah Party, VBS, and Youth Explosion etc. This will give you an idea of what age group you most prefer to work with on an on-going basis.

For more information, contact the church office at 317.591.5050.

How do I get started? Is there an application process?

Yes, there is an application process and to get started you will need to complete the volunteer application and submit it to the office of the Youth Pastor. This can be done online by clicking here for the volunteer application link. Once your application is received in office it will take a minimum of two weeks for processing. Volunteers are also checked against the Sheriffs Sex Offenders Registry.

After screening is complete volunteers are asked to attend an orientation meeting which happen twice a year, once in March and again in September. Although the process seems lengthy volunteers can actually begin serving immediately after being cleared of the Sex Offenders Registry which is done in a few days of submitting their application.

Do I have to be a member in order to volunteer?

Yes, every volunteer that works with us must have officially joined the church and completed his or her new member class.
