ESC CareBag

It’s exciting to be a part of the vision that the Lord has given our Senior Pastor, Jeffrey A. Johnson, Sr. to make an impact in the 46218 community through The ROCK Initiative! One of the key areas the ministry is addressing in the 46218 community is food insecurity. Eastern Star Church Main Campus is located in an area that is referred to as a “food desert,” – an urban area in which it is difficult to buy affordable or good-quality fresh food.

In an effort to target food insecurity, the ESC Care Center is starting a CareBag program in 2019! You will be able to make a direct impact with your food donations to the Eastern Star Church Care Food Pantry. The CareBags will be available at each ESC campus along with a list of the items needed. The process is simple, grab a CareBag, fill the bag up with requested items, bring the CareBag back to any ESC campus, and repeat monthly. Your monthly CareBag donations will help supplement some of the food purchased for the CARE pantry, thereby enabling us to continue to provide high quality and healthy food options for the community; especially our 46218 neighbors.

CareBags are available at all worship services starting TODAY and at the New Year’s Eve Watch Night services for you to take and fill up with the following items:

  • chili beans
  • creamy peanut butter
  • grape jelly
  • green beans
  • whole kernel corn
  • soap bars
  • toilet paper

Remember to bring the CareBag back to the campus of your choice. Every filled CareBag returned makes a significant impact on what we are able to do in this community, and we hope you will participate.

Last, if you’re just not a shopper but still would like to make a difference, make a financial contribution to the CareBag program by visiting our website, clicking on the GIVE tab, and selecting CareBag.

God bless you and thank you for making a difference for the kingdom!
