S.A.L.T. (Student witnessing,
Attendance in Bible study, Leadership
in ministry and Time together) have been developed to support
the mission and vision of Eastern Star Church. The goals of these
ministries are:
1. To share the Gospel message with unbelieving youth and challenge
their life w/o Christ
2. To make disciples of Christian youth in a loving community
3. To involve young disciples in service to others
We believe students become disciples who act as SALT in the world
(Matthew 5:13) when:
Students worship & witness:
The purpose of the youth worship services to give Christian youth
an environment in which to fellowship with other Christian youth
and to invite their friends to hear the Gospel message as well
as encourage commitment to Christ.
• Flavor – Grades 9th – 12th
• Impact – Grades 6th – 8th
Attend a small group fellowship:
The purpose of the small group fellowships is to develop students
into disciples of Christ.
• Small Group Fellowship (Middle School)
• Small Group Fellowship (High School)
Lead in ministry:
The purpose of the service ministries is to allow students an
opportunity to demonstrate their faith in service to others. Such
ministries consist of:
• Student missions
• Student Leadership
• Creative Expressions (Hip-Hop, Drama etc)
• Reflections of God’s Glory (part of sacred dance
ministry)
• Disciples of Christ Teen Choir (part of music ministry)
• Junior Ushers (part of usher ministry)
• Drill Team
Time Specific Events:
The purpose of these events is to create a seeker friendly environment
where Christian youth can invite their non-Christian friends and
they can be exposed to the message of the Gospel.
