Associate Pastor of Youths
Michael
Johnson was reared in Fort Myers, Florida and
accepted Christ at the tender age of seven years
old. At that time he became a member of the
Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of the Reverend Robert L. Johnson
(no relation). After a short time away from
the fellowship, Michael redicated his life to
the Lord in March of 1998.
After his rededication, he began serving in
Campus Ministry as a team leader and facilitator
of Bible studies for Impact, a ministry of Campus
Crusade for Christ. At the same time he began
serving as a team leader for the Young Adult
Ministry at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church,
Orlando, Florida. He has also been an influential
part of the development of the Campus Ministry
of Bible Based (C.M.O.B.B.) in Tampa, Florida,
which held weekly Bible studies on the campus
of the University of South Florida.
Michael received his call to preach in the summer
of 2002 and was licensed on March 9, 2003 at
Friendship Baptist Church, Hopewell, Virginia
where served as the Youth Minister. he also
worked as an Instructional Assistant for the
St. Peter Baptist Church after school program
in Glen Allen, Virginia. He has served as the
guest evangelist for several youth revivals,
and, admist these speaking engagements, Michael
worked closely with the Baptist General Convention
of Virginia (BGC) youth division as a facilitator
for youth retreats and regional Back-to-School
Jams. He has a passion for working with young
people and motivating them to realize their
purpose and potential.
Michael received his primary educational training
from the Lee county public school system of
Fort Myers, Florida in which he graduated from
in 1995. He has earned an Associate of Arts
degree from Edison Community College, a Bachelor
of Arts degree from the University of Central
Florida and the Master of Divinity degree in
the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology
at Virginia Union University.
